Leading the Charge in Lumberton, NC
The City of Lumberton is located in Robeson County, and is recognized as a part of North Carolina's Inner Banks region. The community was founded back in 1787 by John Willis, an officer in the American Revolution. Although Lumberton exhibited moderate levels of expansion in the early days, much of the area's growth took place after World War II.
While Lumberton places great emphasis on its historical roots, local community members always keep an eye on the future. An array of local tech companies have continued to thrive within city limits. On top of that, Lumberton has assisted North Carolina in making the jump to solar energy. In fact, Lumberton solar modules have helped the state increase its solar energy production from one gigawatt per hour in 2007 to more than 4,016!
